According to a recent corporate report by KONAMI, it's been disclosed that their Metal Gear series, which debuted in July 1987, has exceeded 60 million copies sold by late June 2023. Furthermore, in the last nine months alone, they've managed to sell almost 700,000 copies. Considering the absence of any new releases within the series in recent years, the capacity to sell several hundred thousand copies is certainly remarkable.
KONAMI is set to release Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection VOL.1 on October 24, which is expected to further boost sales. As for the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater — Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater — it undoubtedly will attract many more players, but its exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
