The animated adaptation of the popular South Korean web novel Solo Leveling, created by Chugong and illustrated by Dudu, has released a PV and key visual ahead of its airing. In addition to providing more detailed information about the production team, the announcement also revealed that the anime will begin airing in the winter of 2024 (January). Hiroyuki Sawano will be in charge of the anime's music composition, and Shunsuke Nakashige will serve as the director.
Solo Leveling depicts a world in which the human and monster realms are linked via a portal known as "the Gate", with some humans having awakened superpowers to fight against the invading monsters. The protagonist, Sung Jin-Woo, is the weakest E-rank hunter in this world. One day, while exploring a dangerous dungeon with other hunters, they become trapped and almost everyone is killed. Sung Jin-Woo is also affected, but at the last moment, he accepts an opportunity given to him by a statue and wakes up in a hospital. To his surprise, he can now see various interface screens much like in games, including tasks, data, shops, levels, abilities, and more. From there, he embarks on a new adventure to become a top hunter and uncover the truth behind the world ravaged by monsters.
