At Anime Expo 2022, the famous Korean web novel Solo Leveling announced its decision to produce an anime adaptation, with A1-Pictures responsible for the production and set to air within 2023. Recently, the official Solo Leveling Twitter account tweeted "A New Level Begins" and provided a time announcement, teasing that something will be revealed at 10 pm on March 21, leading to speculation that a trailer or the premiere date might be released.
Solo Leveling depicts a world in which the human and monster realms are linked via a portal known as "the Gate", with some humans having awakened superpowers to fight against the invading monsters. The protagonist, Sung Jin-Woo, is the weakest E-rank hunter in this world. One day, while exploring a dangerous dungeon with other hunters, they become trapped and almost everyone is killed. Sung Jin-Woo is also affected, but at the last moment, he accepts an opportunity given to him by a statue and wakes up in a hospital. To his surprise, he can now see various interface screens much like in games, including tasks, data, shops, levels, abilities, and more. From there, he embarks on a new adventure to become a top hunter and uncover the truth behind the world ravaged by monsters.
