Since its announcement back in March, Counter-Strike 2 has undergone several months of limited beta testing. Today, it has finally made its official debut on Steam. Players who own Counter-Strike: Global Offensive can upgrade to it for free, while the "Prime Status Upgrade" will require an additional fee. The game that has been with us for many years, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, will now officially become a part of history.
Counter-Strike 2 has received a significant upgrade, including features like dynamic smoke grenades, a switch from 64 Tick to 128 Tick servers, completely revamped maps, redesigned visual effects, and leaderboards, among others. The game is built using the Source 2 engine, making the game brighter, clearer, and offering advanced network connectivity while retaining all items from CS:GO. New players to the CS series need not worry, as CS2 allows them to learn the basics through offline training, then hone their skills in casual or deathmatch modes, ultimately unlocking competitive mode to face equally skilled opponents.
