CS:GO breaks record again after the announcement of Counter-Strike 2

Earlier this year, the peak concurrent player count for CS:GO has reached around 1.3 million. However, since the official announcement of Counter-Strike 2 not long ago, the game's concurrent online players has once again broken records, with all-time peak of over 1.5 million players (actual number: 1,519,457). The imminent arrival of CS2 has undeniably attracted many new and returning players.

Counter-Strike 2 will be released in the summer of 2023 and will be the largest technological upgrade in the series to date, with improvements and upgrades in all aspects including graphics, performance, lighting, environment, sound, and functionality.

Valve will invite players to join Counter-Strike 2's limited test, based on factors such as a player's game time, trustworthiness, and Steam reputation. [Related Q&A]
