NetEase recently revealed the establishment of a new game studio called Fantastic Pixel Castle (FPC), led by former Lead Systems Designer of World of Warcraft and Vice President of Riot Games' IP and Entertainment Division, Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street.
It was also announced that the studio has already begun the development of their first MMORPG game, codenamed "Ghost"!
According to the official website of FPC, their team members have decades of experience in creating MMOs and other well-known games, including titles like World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Valorant, Overwatch, Guild Wars 2, Fortnite, and more.
Ghostcrawler also mentioned that FPC has a significant advantage in being able to work entirely remotely, allowing them to hire the best game developers. They also plan to maintain a small team to facilitate rapid iteration of game design.
As far as we know, Ghost is still in the initial stages of development, and as a result, not many specifics have been unveiled. What we do know is that it's an MMO with a fantasy theme set in a magical world, and they've already shared several concept art images. Furthermore, on November 8, FPC is planning a livestream on Twitch to discuss their development philosophy and provide insights into the project.
