A few months ago, French independent developer Alexandre Spindler showcased the ultra-realistic first-person tactical shooter game Unrecord, which is currently under development using Unreal Engine 5. The game is presented from a "bodycam" perspective, and its incredibly realistic gameplay demonstration has left players stunned, sparking enthusiastic discussions within the gaming community.
Recently, another game also created with UE5 has been revealed by Japanese developer Nihil Inane Studio with a gameplay demonstration, showcasing in-game footage of the realistic horror survival game titled Lost Fragment.
From the brief footage, the player is seen exploring an abandoned hospital with a pistol when the gameplay changes suddenly from daytime to nighttime, turning the whole environment pitch back, and the player could only rely on a ray of light from the flashlight to tread forward...
Because of the realism plus the eerie sound effects, even without any frightening scenes, just a brief minute of footage is enough to creep someone out.
Although the currently accessible footage of both Unrecord and Lost Fragment are both very impressive indeed, it seems like there's still a long way ahead before both games could be launched officially. However, such visual presentation is undoubtly worth looking forward to in the next few years, especially the horror-themed ones, which are expected to take the horror game experience to new heights.
