During the recent PlayStation Showcase 2023, S-GAME's highly anticipated Phantom Blade Zero was globally revealed, garnering attention from players worldwide. However, concerns have arisen due to the developer's prior registration of the same game title for a mobile game and the possibility that it may be either a mobile game or a game-as-a-service console game.
Soon after, producer Soulframe quickly stepped forward to clarify and confirm that Phantom Blade Zero will be a story-driven, exploration-focused, and action-packed single-player game. It is planned for release on PC and console platforms, and there have been no changes to their plans since the start of the project.
As for the previously registered mobile game of the same name, according to the producer, there was indeed a Phantom Blade Zero being developed as a 2D side-scrolling mobile game. However, the development was later halted, and it was rebooted as a console version using Unreal Engine 5. And since UE5 does not support mobile platforms, thus there is no possibility of a mobile game. In the future, the studio will undergo a new license registration for Phantom Blade Zero, reaffirming that the game will be a traditional single-player game.
