Back in 2021, there was a serious leak of GeForce Now's game database. Some of the mentioned games have already been released, while others have not been officially announced yet. Examples of these unreleased titles include the rumored Final Fantasy Tactics Remastered and Final Fantasy IX Remake, for which the officials have not made any statements or provided any clarifications.

Concerning this matter, frequent leaker Jeff Grubb recently revealed on the Game Mess Mornings podcast that the rumored Final Fantasy IX Remake does indeed exist. However, it is expected to be unveiled only after the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Furthermore, he believes that the development budget for Final Fantasy IX Remake may fall between that of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Reunion, and it might even retain the classic ATB (Active Time Battle) turn-based gameplay from the original game.
