由 Valve 所开发的多人线上 5vs5 竞技游戏 《DotA 2》，最初的《DotA》是在《Warcraft 3》的自定义地图系统创造出来，随着热度不断地上涨，深受世界各地玩家爱戴，这个地图的设计者 Icefrog 也受雇到 Valve 领导《DotA》的后续发展，并在 2010 年正式发表了这个消息。
《DotA 2》的玩法就是每一场游戏都将会分为天辉（Radiant）和夜魇（Dire）5 VS 5 对抗，每一位玩家都会选择一名英雄，并透过团队合作将对方的防御塔击倒，最终把主堡打爆便可获得游戏胜利，但在这个过程中也会与对手来回竞技。
