Respawn Entertainment has introduced a new character called Ballistic, who is set to be added to the playable roster of Apex Legends on May 9 as part of the upcoming season. The Refined Gunslinger is revealed in the latest episode of Apex Legends' Stories from the Outlands.
The latest video depicts Ballistic, whose real name is August Montgomery Brinkman, reflecting on his past career as a celebrity in the Thunderdome Games, where his teammate and brother-in-law, Kit Siang, was unfortunately killed due to August's self-centered crowd-pleasing combat style.
Overwhelmed with guilt, August became a recluse and drove away his wife and son, living a life of solitude for almost 20 years. After knowing that his son Nathaniel, who was inspired by his father's legacy and wanted to follow in his footsteps, had qualified to participate in the Apex Games, August offered himself as a substitute, in an attempt to save his son from the path that ruined him.
With the reveal of Ballistic, it is expected that Respawn Entertainment will gradually release new information in anticipation of Apex Legends' 17th season, which is titled Arsenal. Fans can expect a season reveal trailer on April 26, followed by details about Ballistic's abilities and other upcoming changes. Respawn has previously hinted at an updated World's Edge map, changes to Ranked play, and weapon mastery, which will likely be revealed leading up to season 17's May 9 launch.
