Japanese light novel series Date A Live, written by Koshi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako, has announced the production of the TV anime series' fifth season. A key visual and PV have been released along with the announcement, as well as news that the production will still be handled by Geektoys, the studio that produced the fourth season. However, the specific broadcast date has not yet been announced.
Date A Live tells the story of Shido Itsuka, who lives an ordinary life until he meets a girl known as one of the "Spirits", who is responsible for the occurrence of spatial quakes when they manifest in the real world. The power the girl possesses is capable of destroying the world, and there are only two ways to stop her: eliminate her or seal her powers by dating her. Thereby begins Shido's life of dating various Spirits and trying to make them fall in love with him.
