The zombie-themed action game titled Lollipop Chainsaw was initially released by Japanese developer Dragami Games on PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 in 2012. In celebration of the game's 10th anniversary, a remake for the game was officially announced last year.
Today, Dragami Games' president, Yoshimi Yasuda, announced on his official Twitter account that the remake is officially titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. It was also revealed that the game's release date is being postponed from 2023 to the summer of 2024. This decision is primarily aimed at enhancing the game's quality to provide players with a best possible experience.
Lollipop Chainsaw follows the tale of Juliet, a zombie hunter who battles hordes of the undead at her school, San Romero High School. When the male protagonist, Nick, gets bitten by a zombie in her place, Juliet takes the drastic step of decapitating him, yet somehow manages to keep his head alive. As the story unfolds, it's revealed that the zombie apocalypse was caused by none other than Juliet's former classmate Swan, who is also a malevolent gothic wizard. Determined to end this catastrophe, Juliet embarks on a journey to defeat Swan and restore order.
