During the recent Final Fantasy XVI Fan Festival in London, Naoki Yoshida, the producer, not only unveiled fresh details about the forthcoming 7.0 expansion for the game, but there was also a heartwarming incident that took place on stage at the event's closing ceremony.
Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy, personally expressed his gratitude to Naoki Yoshida, stating, "Thank you for making the Final Fantasy series better." This brief statement brought tears to Yoshida's eyes, and he stated, "I didn't expect Mr. Sakaguchi to make me cry."
In 1983, Hironobu Sakaguchi became a part of Square, and his creation of the immensely successful Final Fantasy series played a pivotal role in elevating Square's status as a prestigious game development company. By 1991, he had risen to the position of Executive Vice President at Square. Nevertheless, in 2001, as a result of declining performance, Hironobu Sakaguchi made the decision to resign from his role and eventually departed from the company to establish his own studio, Mistwalker.
