The popular mobile strategy game Arknights, created by Yostar, released its first season of TV anime adaptation titled Arknights: Prelude to Dawn in October last year. Recently, the initial visual and PV for the anime's season two, titled Perish in Frost, has been released. The broadcast date has not yet been revealed, but fans can look forward to further official announcements.
The mobile game Arknights depicts a world where the land is ravaged by unknown calamities, and mysterious mineral deposits called "originium" emerge in the affected areas. With technological advancements, originium is utilized in various industries, leading to a rapid advancement of civilization. However, the mineral also creates "Infected," individuals with potentially dangerous abilities and the ability to spread the infection upon death, making them targets of isolation and expulsion from various countries.
The "Reunion Movement" was originally a peaceful group of Infected, but the appearance of a revolutionary figure, Talulah, leads to an uprising where more Infected are recruited into the organization, which eventually attempts to utilize violence in challenging the world's order. As the rebellion intensifies, the sudden intervention of the medical institution "Rhodes Island" leads the situation towards an unknown direction. Players will face an unprecedented Reunion Movement riot with Rhodes Island operatives, while navigating between various factions, uncovering unknown secrets, and resisting the Reunion Movement's attacks.
