The animated series Arcane, adapted from the game League of Legends, has achieved great success and acclaim since its premiere in 2021. The second season is currently in production, but the CEO of Riot Games made it clear at the time that it would not air in 2022.

Recently, during an interview with LPL commentator Guan Zeyuan, Riot Games CEO Nicolas Laurent was asked whether the second season of League of Legends animated series Arcane would be aired this year. His answer was that it was not possible, as the second season is still in production as of now. Although it has made some progress, in order to achieve a higher standard, more time is needed. Laurent personally watched the third episode of the second season before arriving in China.

Another reason why the second season of Arcane cannot be aired this year is that no immediate plans were in place for a sequel as they didn't know if the first season would be successful or not. Had they predicted its success beforehand, maybe we could have had the chance to enjoy season 2 sooner than expected
