在今年早些，开发商 Krafton 就宣布正在开发全新《PUBG》系列手游《PUBG:New State》，并且已经开放事前预注册活动，而在近日，Krafton 为公司上市前举办了一场新闻发布会，其中提到这款新手游预计会在 10 月份上线。另外，还透露未来他们将透过各种方式，例如漫画、动画、短片来扩展 PUBG 宇宙，为玩家提供更多乐趣。
本作《PUBG:New State》除了保有原本的基础玩法以外，还追加了许多全新元素，使其玩法变得更加多变，更具有策略性。根据官方所述，新作背景设定于 2051 年的未来，并且增加了枪支改造系统、无人机、新载具、新闪避动作等等，同时也提供了 8KM X 8KM 的超阔地图，每一个区域都独具特色以及有着各种道具物件。至于在画面的表现上，开发商采用了 Global Illumination 技术，可以在手机上实现更逼真的环境以及更精细的游戏画面表现。
