在前阵子中国国家新闻出版署下发《关于进一步严格管理 切实防止未成年人沉迷网络游戏的通知》，要求所有网络游戏仅能在周五、周六、周日和法定假日每日晚上 8 点至 9 点向未成年人提供 1 小时的游玩服务。而在施行该措施的首个周末，9 月 4 日晚上中国非常火热的游戏《王者荣耀》部分玩家直接无法进入巅峰赛、排位赛，以及出现各种服务器异常崩溃问题，相信是这段期间大量的未成年玩家涌入所导致。
《关于进一步严格管理 切实防止未成年人沉迷网络游戏的通知》除了上面所述的限制每周五、六、日可玩 1 小时以外，还必须严格落实实名注册，接入国家新闻出版署网络游戏防沉迷实名验证系统，必须要真实有效身份才能登入。
