本作《轩辕剑柒》是款即时制 RPG 单机游戏，背景设定在西汉末年，为了保护家人，玩家将扮演遗孤太史昭踏上冒险之路，与各种人事物相遇以及对抗各种妖魔鬼怪。此外，这部作品该系列首次革新，采用更偏向动作游戏的即时制战斗玩法，感受比起以往更爽快的体验。
