Bethesda Softworks senior vice president Todd Vaughn has announced in a company-wide email that Tango Gameworks' founder Shinji Mikami will leave the studio after more than 12 years.
"I am writing today to let you know that studio head Shinji Mikami has decided to leave Tango Gameworks in the coming months," wrote Vaughn, "Mikami-san has been a creative leader and supportive mentor to young developers at Tango for 12 years through his work on the Evil Within franchise, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and of course, Hi-Fi Rush."
Vaughn also praised Hi-Fi Rush as one of the best games of Besthesda and Xbox over the past couple of years, as the game has brought about "significant positive momentum for the business and Tango".
Although Shinji Mikami will be leaving the studio, it doesn't mean that the team will stop supporting Ghostwire: Tokyo and Hi-Fi Rush. The team is also excited by the possibilities lying ahead for the developers in Tango.
