《最后生还者》HBO 真人版剧集一经播出后，便斩获不少观众们的一致好评，而很快的 HBO 官方就宣布将续订《最后生还者》第二季剧集。实际上，饰演真人版艾莉的演员 Bella Ramsey 此前就曾透露，如果《最后生还者》第一季收视率高，有很大可能会续订，如今的成绩、评价都很明显的好，尽管截止至今仅播出两集。
此外，在今年年初 Neil Druckmann 接受采访时表示过，若推出《最后生还者》第二季真人版剧集，其故事剧情可能将涵盖游戏作品《最后生还者2》所发生的事件。
