Capcom has officially announced that the popular Elder Dragon Amatsu which appeared in Monster Hunter P3 and Monster Hunter X will be making an appearance in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. In addition, the upcoming free Title Update 5 will include Anomaly Research Quests that features new monsters, including the Risen Shagaru Magala. For experienced hunters, there will also be a new quest type called the Special Investigation, which will allow players to challenge the most difficult monsters. TU5 will be released on April 20, 2023.

To challenge the Elder Dragon Amatsu, players will need to be at MR 10 or higher, while the Risen Shagaru Magala mission will require MR 180 or higher. Just when everyone thought it was over, the officials announced a "Last Additional Monster" at the end of the special program, which is expected to be released in June 2023. The identity of the monster has not been confirmed yet, thus players will have to wait for further announcements.
