早在 2019 年举办的 Blizzcon 上，暴雪就正式发表了《Overwatch》系列续作《Overwatch 2》，增加了许多全新内容，其中包括注重团队合作的 PvE 模式，直到至今还在处于开发阶段，并没有太多新的消息公布。最近，经常爆料《Overwatch》消息的推主 Metro_OW 表示自己透过一些消息渠道得知，新作《Overwatch 2》或许不太可能会在 2022 年内发布，因为开发时间比预期设想的来得还要长，但他希望这一切消息都是假的。
话虽如此，如果事实证明这一切都是真实的，Metro_OW 认为《Overwatch》不可能在没有重大后续更新的情况下再活一年半 ...
