Turning back time to April 1, 2021, the indie developer Lilith Walther, known for her retro-styled remake of Bloodborne titled Bloodborne PSX, announced a promotional video for a kart racing game based on the series called Bloodborne Kart.
During that period, given that it was April Fools' Day, many people believed it was a mere prank. However, Lilith Walther made it clear that it was not a joke, just that the release date was yet to be determined.
After over two years of anticipation, a brand new trailer has been released today, announcing that the game is set to be available for free starting from January 31, 2024, on the indie gaming platform itch.io.
In this game, a total of 12 original characters will be provided for players to choose from and race through 16 different tracks based on the original game. The objective is to be the first to complete three laps. During the intense races, players can also employ various weapons and items to hinder their opponents in the battle for first-place.
Apart from single-player gameplay, the game also supports couch co-op, including a team-based battle mode where players are assigned to either the "Red Team" or "Blue Team" to compete, taking on various mini-games to earn competition points or engaging in skirmishes to seize scattered "Insight" throughout the map. This allows players to enjoy the thrill of racing and experience the excitement of gunfights simultaneously. It's worth noting that the single-player campaign mode features a main storyline for players to progress through, including challenging boss battles.
