不久前举办的 TGA2022 上，小岛秀夫就正式亮相《死亡搁浅》系列正统续作《死亡搁浅2》，同时公开首支预告片，他个人也表示这支片中藏了许多东西（彩蛋），让玩家们可以仔细看和发起讨论。很快的，在那之后就有国外网友找到其中彩蛋，疑似在致敬自己曾经的作品《潜龙谍影2：自由之子》，而且同样是二代续作。
从《死亡搁浅2》预告片中，可以看到芙拉吉尔（Fragile）抱起孩子的一幕，与《潜龙谍影2：自由之子》× GACKT 合作的广告、特别版盒装封面的动作极度相似，更被网友笑称小岛秀夫可真是个鬼鬼祟祟的混蛋。
