The latest installment of the survival sandbox action-adventure game Ark: Survival Evolved developed by Studio Wildcard, Ark 2, was originally scheduled to be released in 2023, but has recently been postponed until the end of 2024.
The development team stated that in order to create the best Ark 2 and fully utilize the potential of Unreal Engine 5, more time is needed for development to provide players with the ultimate next-generation dinosaur survival adventure experience. Additionally, the development team stated that no gameplay, screenshots, or videos will be released this year, but they will continue to share behind-the-scenes development progress.
In addition to the news about Ark 2, the development team has also confirmed the release of a remastered version of Ark: Survival Evolved using Unreal Engine 5, named Ark: Survival Ascended, which is planned to be officially released in August 2023 for PlayStation 5 / Xbox Series / PC. At that time, the original version's servers will be shut down and replaced by the remastered version. This version not only receives a noticeable visual upgrade but also adds support for cross-platform multiplayer, cross-platform save files, new game modes, new features, among other improvements and adjustments.
