由 D3 Publisher 发行 Sandlot 开发的一系列作品《Earth Defense Force》今日根据 Ryokutya 的情报指出，《Earth Defense Force 2》与《Earth Defense Force 3》即将移植至 Nintendo Switch 平台。目前宣布《Earth Defense Force 2》预定将在 7 月 15 日发售，而《Earth Defense Force 3》则会在今年秋季推出。
Nintendo Switch 版《Earth Defense Force 2》是以 Playstation Vita 上推出的《EDF2 PORTABLE V2》为基础进行制作，据系列制作人冈岛信幸说，他原先是想从初代《 The Earth Defense Force》开始移植，但由于技术困难而放弃了。
