《Hogwarts Legacy》是一款身临其境的开放世界动作 RPG 游戏，游戏中玩家将可以在巫师世界中冒险，探索和发现奇妙的野兽，自定义角色和手艺药水、掌握咒语施法以及提升才能。故事背景设定于 1800 年代的霍格沃茨，玩家所扮演的角色是一名学生，他掌握着一个古老秘密的钥匙，而这个秘密可能会威胁整个巫师世界。而已被霍格沃茨学院录取的玩家，很快会发现自己并不是普通的学生，玩家具有感知和掌握远古魔法的能力，只有玩家可以决定是否为了所有人的利益保护这个秘密，或是屈服于更多险恶魔法的诱惑。
