近日有外媒发现，Playstation 工作室正在招聘移动手机部门负责人(Head of Mobile)，从招聘信息所述，部门负责人需要建立 3 - 5 年的商业计划，并且促进 Playstation 工作室内部移动游戏开发的愿景、使命和战略。除了扩展移动游戏开发，还需要把 Playstation 受欢迎的游戏系列改编成手游作品。
站在商业立场，Sony 进军发展移动游戏市场确实会有潜力创造出更多利益，因为手游市场非常庞大，许多游戏公司在数年前也都纷纷往这方面进行投资、发展，例如动视的《Call of Duty Mobile》、任天堂的《Pokemon Go》都是很不错的例子。而且在 Playstation 工作室拥有着许多不错的游戏 IP，改编成为手游或许还能让更多玩家接触认知，但是希望这些手游会保持一定的水准与品质。
