Ryouko Kui's fantasy manga series Delicious in Dungeon is set to be adapted into an anime with the same name. After announcing that it will be exclusively aired on Netflix in January 2024, the series' first official trailer was recently released, revealing its opening theme song "Sleep Walking Orchestra" performed by BUMP OF CHICKEN. The series is planned to air in two consecutive cours.
Delicious in Dungeon takes place in a traditional classical fantasy setting. The story follows the main characters as they encounter various monsters in the dungeons, and after defeating these monsters, they would cook them into food using modern cooking techniques. This unique blend of fantasy adventure and culinary elements has garnered a significant fanbase. The manga also delves into the ecology of many monsters, and although the dishes depicted are not real, they make readers' mouths water nonetheless.
