Valve has recently announced the launch of new OLED versions for its Steam Deck handheld gaming device. These new versions are set to be officially released on November 16, with pricing options of 512 GB ($549.99) and 1TB ($649.99).
On the other hand, the existing Steam Deck LCD models, including the 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB variants, will see price reductions. As stocks deplete, Valve plans to only offer the 256GB version for the LCD model in the future.
As per official details, the Steam Deck OLED not only features an improved display and visual performance but also boasts a 30% to 50% increase in battery life. It is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6E, providing higher bandwidth and lower latency, which translates to faster download speeds and a more stable network for players.
Perhaps the most crucial improvement lies in the Steam Deck OLED's incorporation of a larger fan and an upgraded cooling system, leading to reduced overall operating temperatures when compared to the original version.
