One Piece manga goes on 4-week hiatus as author undergoes eye surgery
According to an official handwritten letter by Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece, it has been revealed that Oda-sensei has been facing challenges with astigmatism in recent years, greatly affecting his ability to work. As a result, he has made the decision to undergo laser surgery.
After consulting with the editorial department and obtaining their approval, the beloved manga series One Piece will temporarily go on hiatus starting from Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 29, scheduled for release on June 19. The series will then resume with Issue 32, following a four-week break.
