根据此前的介绍，本作《王国之心 失落连结》将填补该系列的空白时代，展开全新的原创故事，同时玩家将与现实世界连结的地图战斗冒险、探索以及收集散落四处的碎片来进行强化。此外，据说当手机正在移动时，将会触发游戏系统，自动战斗和收集碎片，当然也可以在家中游玩，而且游戏还拥有线上联机模式，最多支援六人游玩。
