Acquire, the developer known for titles like Akiba's Trip and Octopath Traveler, has officially announced their latest game, a twin-stick shooter called XALADIA: Rise of the Space Pirates X2, which is set to release this fall for Playstation 5 / Nintendo Switch / Steam. On a side note, the game marks Acquire's first self-published game to be released worldwide.
According to official introduction, in XALADIA: Rise of the Space Pirates X2, you will assume the role of an elite special forces soldier of the planetary exploration team, who have traveled to numerous planets for survey missions and colonization throughout the galaxy. However, suddenly an enemy appears to obstruct your mission.
The massive force, which covers the entire universe, turns out to be highly aggressive alien space pirates. Therefore, Headquarters have issued an order to you, who is determined to fight to protect the planets: “While supporting planetary colonization, exterminate the enemy and return to Earth (base).”
In the year 21XX, the long struggle for cosmic supremacy between humanity and the space pirates begins.
