Legendary Entertainment acquires Street Fighter film and TV rights

According to The Hollywood Reporter, in addition to the upcoming release of the latest installment in the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter 6, CAPCOM will also collaborate with the well-known American production company Legendary Entertainment on the live-action film and television adaptation of Street Fighter. Legendary Entertainment has acquired the rights to the franchise, and all related projects will be developed in partnership with CAPCOM. However, there has been no announcement regarding any new film projects yet.

Legendary Entertainment has previously produced many famous works, including Godzilla vs. Kong and Dune in recent years.

In fact, Street Fighter has already been adapted into a live-action movie before, with the film of the same name released in 1994, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Later, there was also Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li in 2009.
