《破晓传奇》采用了 Unreal Engine 4 开发，并且升级了该系列的战斗系统以及保留了其剧情的叙事方式。本作的背景世界观将会设定于名为「达纳」以及「雷纳」的两颗星球，故事讲述着 300 年前「达纳」突然遭到「雷纳」星球的侵袭，从此之后便持续的被「雷纳」支配，而在某日，有一位脸上戴着面具的「达纳」少年与一位被追捕的「雷纳」少女意外相遇，让这两个星球的命运出现了一些改变，崭新的故事剧情也将在此展开。
