RoRo has announced that the visual novel Rail Romanesque Origin will be arriving on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on November 21, 2023, supporting Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitles. Pricing details have also ben revealed: the Standard Edition will cost 3,800 yen, the Digital Download Edition will be priced at 2,800 yen, while the Limited Deluxe Edition will be available for 11,800 yen, which includes a Blu-Ray disc of the spin-off animation Rail Romanesque 2 and a three-disc vocal CD album.

Rail Romanesque Origin is a port of Maitetsu: Last Run!!, which was originally released on Steam in 2020. It boasts a script twice the size of its predecessor, with a staggering 2 million words.

Set against the backdrop of the fading Great Abandoned Railroad—a railway system rendered obsolete by the advance of modern transportation technology—the game follows the journey of a young man named Soutetsu Migita, who crosses paths with charming young women, each harboring unique aspirations. Together, they embark on a quest to restore the railways to their former glory.
