Last month, NIS America made an announcement about the upcoming release of two RPGs from Falcom, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV, for PlayStation 5 next year. Recently, they unveiled the official release date, slated for February 16, 2024. Both games will be purchasable in bundled packages via physical stores or individually via the PlayStation Store.
According to official introduction, Trails of Cold Steel III invites players into a world full of intrigue and excitement that is years in the making. They will embark on a whirlwind tour through the never-before-seen lands of the recently expanded Erebonian countryside, and encounter fresh faces as well as old friends familiar to fans of the series. In true Trails fashion, the deep, engaging story pairs with an incredible cast of characters and a combat system refined over decades of innovative RPG worldbuilding.
On the other hand, in Trials of Cold Steel IV, The Erebonian Empire is on the brink of all out war! Taking place shortly after the ending of Trails of Cold Steel III, the heroes of Class VII find themselves with the full force of the Empire on the path to domination. Further, the hero of the Erebonian Civil War and Class VII's instructor, Rean Schwarzer, has gone missing. Now, the students of Class VII, old and new, must unite with heroes from all over the continent to create the only chance the world has to be spared from total destruction.
