Bandai Namco has not only released a demo version of their upcoming fighting game Tekken 8 today but also unveiled a character trailer for one of the returning characters, Yoshimitsu, showcasing his in-game combat. The game is scheduled for release on January 26, 2024, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Tekken 8 is a brand-new fighting game that marks a nine-year gap since its predecessor. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game not only offers an unparalleled visual experience and detailed character designs but also aims to deliver a visceral and exhilarating fighting experience.
According to the official description, the game is set against the backdrop of the world half a year after the events of Tekken 7. It follows the story of Jin Kazama as he challenges his father, Kazuya Mishima, in a struggle against fate, where he'll face powerful enemies and a series of brutal challenges.
Tekken 8 has confirmed that it will feature 32 characters at its initial release, including some returning characters from previous installments and new characters making their debut. In terms of gameplay, the game builds upon its existing foundation and introduces a new combat system called HEAT, adding a more aggressive dimension to the battles.
