Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) officials recently revealed that due to significant changes in the industry, they have made an extremely difficult decision to initiate global layoffs, affecting about 8% of their employees, or approximately 900 people, which will significantly impact several studios under their umbrella.

According to information available, the currently affected entities include:

• Employees of SIE Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Japan, and Asia Pacific regions
• Several PlayStation studios
• Technical, creative, and support teams
• The closure of PlayStation Studios' London studio
• Reductions in scale at Firesprite, Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, and Guerrilla Games studios
• Reductions in various functions at SIE UK
