According to a Weibo post by the Shenzhen Customs in China, they recently seized a case of PS5 game discs smuggling at the Huanggang Port. The smugglers were caught because abnormalities in the X-ray images were detected when the truck passed through the inspection equipment. The local customs officers then conducted a manual search of the truck and found six modified hidden compartments in the driver's cab, containing 800 undeclared game discs of the popular title Hogwarts Legacy which was released last month, valued at approximately MYR 270,000 (CNY 420,000).
According to the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Implementing Customs Administrative Penalty, Article 7, smuggling refers to the act of transporting, carrying, or mailing goods or items that are prohibited or restricted from entering or exiting the country or goods or items that are required by law to pay taxes, by hiding, disguising, concealing, falsely declaring, or other means to evade customs supervision after passing through the customs checkpoints.
