NieR: Automata, Square Enix's action RPG, debuted on February 23, 2017, celebrating its seventh anniversary today. The latest official announcement reveals that global shipments of the game have exceeded 8 million copies. Since April of last year, when sales reached 7.5 million copies, an additional 500,000 copies have been sold, marking an impressive achievement for a game that has been on the market for seven years.
The story of NieR: Automata is set in a world thousands of years after the previous game NieR, and players will control the androids 2B, 9S, and A2 of the YoRHa forces to explore a vast open world and fight against mechanical beings. After completing the game, players can continue to experience other story endings in multiple playthroughs, making it a very content-rich game that is now available on Playstation 4 / Xbox One / Switch / PC platforms.
