“Knockout City” shutting down on June 6, “Private Hosted Server” version to be launched instead

Developed by Velan Studio, it was announced today that the dodgeball competitive game "Knockout City" will officially shut down on June 6, 2023.

The studio expressed that being a small, indie studio, they do not have the necessary resources to increase the sustainability of the game through major disruptions that could better attract and retain players.

However, if you’re a fan who liked the game, fret not as the studio also said that a "private hosted server" version will be launched later for players to download for free.

Although the game would be retired, it will remain in existence through this form of “private hosted server”.

"Knockout City" is a team-based competitive game, with its rules resembling dodgeball. The game is played in 3 v 3 / 4 v 4 modes, with players passing dodge balls around and throwing them to knock down enemies. In addition, there are also many types of balls in the game such as Moon Balls which allows players to jump higher, Bomb Balls which are time bombs that explode on impact, and Cage Balls which will turn the hit player into Ballform for a few seconds. Players turned into Ballform could be thrown off the map by opponent players, or thrown by teammates at opposing players to knock them out.
