Google 副总裁 Phill Harrison 今日在官方部落格上发出一则公告表示，Google 在几年前推出的云游戏串流平台 Google Stadia 这个面向消费者的服务，虽然整体的方案以及计划是建立在强大的技术基础上，但它在推出后却没有如预期般的受用户欢迎。因此他们不得不做出一个艰难的决定，宣布 Google Stadia 将在 2023 年 1 月 19 日起停止运营。
此外，副总裁 Phill Harrison 还提到，凡是有透过所有 Google 商店购买 Stadia 硬件以及在 Stadia 商城上购买的游戏内容或 DLC 所花费的内容都会在 2023 年 1 月中旬获得全额退款。在此之前，玩家依旧可以访问自己所拥有的游戏内容以及游戏库。最后，副总裁 Phil Harrison 表示，Stadia 所开发的底层平台技术已经获得证实，未来这些技术会运用在 Youtube / Google Play / AR 服务层面上，还计划提供给其他游戏行业当合作伙伴。
