In the game, players take on the role of Kong as he traverse a mysterious island, experiencing various story elements while trying to defeat the ultimate predator, Raw, to avenge his parents and overcome attacks from all the island's primal beasts.
At first glance, it may seem like a fairly standard game, right? However, this $40 game has graphics and gameplay that feel like they belong to a game from 20 years ago. Players who purchased the game have also taken to the social platform X (formerly Twitter) to share actual gameplay footage, making people curious about whether Skull Island: Rise of Kong can surpass The Lord of the Rings: Gollum to become the worst game of the year.
Skull Island: Rise of Kong is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, garnering overwhelmingly negative reviews on its Steam store page in particular.
