近些年，索尼 SIE 除了将不少第一方游戏登陆 PC 平台以外，还布局未来推出多款服务型的游戏作品，此前收购的几家公司也都与服务型游戏有关，例如《Destiny 2》开发商 BUNGIE。直到最近，有消息称索尼与韩国著名网游公司 NCSoft 达成合作协议，并正在研发着基于《Horizon》系列的 MMORPG 游戏，代号为《Project H》，是索尼进军服务型游戏市场的作品之一。与此同时，外媒也向 NCSoft 求证，得到的答复只是“很难确认有关当前正在开发中未发布项目的信息”，没有作出正面的确认与否定的回应。
此外，早在数月前就有消息人士透露，原本索尼就有意让《Horizon Forbidden West》加入合作模式，而 Guerilla Games 则是决定把这个模式保留，作为未来项目或独立衍生作品，但以上提到的这些都只是传闻而已，准确消息有待未来官方公布。
