《Steelrising》故事背景设定在一个现实与魔幻并存的世界，也就是 1789 年的巴黎。玩家将在游戏中扮演玛丽皇后的保镖机器人“Aegis”，在这座被恐惧笼罩的城市下，寻找自己的创造者，并背负起对抗法国国王路易十六用他的机械大军所带来的混乱，最终改变历史的重要责任。
