At the Tokyo Game Show 2023, Bandai Namco announced that a demo will be released on September 26, 2023, for the upcoming Sword Art Online Last Recollection, a commemoration project of Sword Art Online's 10th anniversary. The demo will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Xbox One, and players will be able to carry over their saved data to the full game. The official release of the game is scheduled for October 5, 2023.
In Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, the Underworld, created to develop a more advanced AI system called A.L.I.C.E., is reaching its final moments. As the gate separating the Human World and the Dark Territory opens, war breaks out. At this moment, a dark knight flies in from the other side of the gate with a band of young girls. In the game, players will assume to role of the protagonist Kirito and his companions, fighting and adventuring together. Can they put an end to a destiny that can never be changed?
