The Japanese manga series Bungo Stray Dogs, with written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa, will launch a fifth season following the conclusion of the fourth season of the TV anime. The official announcement states that the fifth season will begin airing in July 2023, and has revealed the key visual and promotional trailer, with Bones once again in charge of production.
Bungo Stray Dogs follows Atsushi Nakajima, a teenager who is kicked out of an orphanage and encounters Osamu Dazai, a member of the Armed Detective Agency who is attempting to commit suicide by drowning in the river. After rescuing Dazai, they solve a case involving a man-eating tiger and Atsushi is recommended to join the agency. Later on, members of a local mafia attempt to kidnap Atsushi, who is revealed to be worth 7 billion yen to the international criminal organization, The Guild.
