This season will have a new addition to the match format from previous tournaments, with Last Chance on Saturdays and Super Sundays happening during the weekends for teams to gain additional league points. The 24 teams are divided into 3 groups, where each team from the group will battle other groups during the first three weeks.
This season will introduce a groundbreaking format designed to revolutionise competitive play and elevate the intensity to unprecedented levels. The battle unfolds fiercely in the group stage, spanning from Wednesday to Friday.
As the stakes escalate, the top 8 teams from the group stage earn their ticket to the electrifying Super Sunday showdown. Meanwhile, the remaining 16 teams engage in the Survival stage, where only the most resilient secure a coveted spot in the ultimate showdown.
Following three adrenaline-fueled weeks of Super Sunday clashes, the rankings unveil the elite top 16 teams destined for the Grand Finals. Adding a strategic twist, teams receive valuable Head Start points based on their league ranking, intensifying the pursuit of victory.
Many all-star players gather together for this tournament, with UHIGH returning to fight for Malaysian pride with SEM9 after competing with BTR in Indonesia for more than 2 years. On top of that, old legends return to the competitive scene forming Yoodo O-TWO, JUMPER+FREDO (2x SEA Champions) and iSh0Tz(1x SEA Champ, #7 PMGC 2020) with BIUBIU (2x PMPL Champ) as coach.
The rivalry between teams will be intense this season as ALTER EGO will aim to win the trophy for a three-peat in Malaysia once more.
Meanwhile, the lineup for the experienced star teams remain unchanged. Teams and players such as Thailand Vampire Esports, FAZE, Vietnam DXavier, and Champions Indonesia ALTER EGO. Indonesia star twins ZUXXY+LUXXY rejoin Bigetron Esports, hoping they will lift the SEA trophy again as they once did with the team.
